power of play

Founded in 1930, Fisher-Price® is dedicated to enriching the lives of little ones and their families.

We take our toy business very seriously. There's a science behind what we do. This is why we created the Fisher-Price® Playlab at our US headquarters in 1961. Here, childhood development experts work with our product designers to create toys that work with every age and stage of a child's development. Then we let the true experts do the product testing - parents and children.

One of the simplest ways children learn is also the most enjoyable - through play! Babies absorb everything through sight, sound, touch and taste, developing new skills at an amazing rate. To help you choose the right toys for your child's age and ability we have grouped them into four key developmental stages.

 development milestones
sensory stimulation

0+ months

Newborns love watching and listening. And because they learn and develop through sensory stimulation, they respond best to toys that encourage them to look, listen and touch. Soon they'll be able to reach and grasp at toys and they'll love exploring them using their mouth! Then, they'll start trying to roll over and may begin to sit.

sitting and reaching

6+ months

Once their confidence grows children begin to stand on their own two feet, exploring their world from a new angle! Soon you will not be able to stop them when they begin to crawl and possibly take their first steps. Any toy that invites your baby to move after it will encourage them to try their new skill.

on the go

walkers and riders

18+ months

Your baby is tottering into toddlerhood! They understand more of what you say and may begin to say a few words back. They are full of energy. Their stronger legs mean they can walk, climb and run and nimbler fingers and hands help them hold, twist, poke and play in a much more co-ordinated way.
